Dirty politics in Karnataka

I believe almost all are aware of what is happening in Karnataka.If not,a small recap:

Last week,Karnataka CM Mr.B S Yeddyurappa,sacked few ministers from his cabinet for rebelling against him and withdrawing support to his 29-month-old government. After this,11 BJP MLAs(including these 2),announced displeasure over Yeddyurappa's leadership and announced that they will not support the Yeddy's govt anymore.. 5 More independent MLAs turned against him... As a result of which a confidence vote was conducted on 12th October,2010.The previous day,Karnataka governor,H R Bharadwaj,had advised the Karnataka assembly speaker,K G Bopaiah not to disqualify any MLAs.But on 12th morning,the speaker disqualified these 16 MLAs.As a result of this,the 224 member legislature was reduced to 208.After this a voice voting was conducted in the assembly by the speaker and the BJP which had the support of 106 MLAs,had won the trust vote.

Since the assembly strength was reduced to 208,the half-way mark became 104 and since the BJP had 106 MLAs support,it was declared the winner.

But the drama doesn't end here.Now H D Kumarasamy,son of Deve Gowda and JD(S) party leader, has expressed dissatisfaction over the way the trust vote was conducted and he says this is unfair.The grand old party of India,Congress,too calls it a blot on democracy.The congress loyalist,governor Bharadwaj has done his duty,by recommending president's rule in Karnataka.Now he will be in good books of Rahul Gandhi :-).

Let us see,what kind of gentleman is this H R Bharadwaj.He was the law minister in the previous UPA govt.At that time,Chief Election Commissioner of India,Mr.Gopalasamy recommended the dismissal of the election commissioner,Mr.Naveen Chawla(the current Chief Election Commissioner of India).,since there were several complaints against Mr.Chawla and that Chawla didn't give a convincing reply to the notice sent by Gopalasamy.But the then law minister Mr.H.R.Baradwaj,clearly told his recommendation will not be considered at all and the Chief Election Commissioner has no right to do such recommendations.

Let us see what article 324(5) says:

Election Commissioner or Regional Commissioner shall not be removed from office except on the recommendation of CEC.

He was a law minister who always supported unlawful activities.He favoured the withdrawal of cases against Ottavio Quattrocchi, main accused in Bofors scandal.The point to be noted is that he is an Italian businessman.And this Bharadwaj,being a governor of Karnataka also expressed displeasure over the corruption charges against the Reddy brothers in the Karnataka govt and also gave a kind of warning to the Karnataka govt.Well if a governor can condemn corruption accusitions against ministers,then why can't the president do the same against the central ministers?There are allegations of corruptions against the IT minister A Rasa.It is said that he has involved in a scandal of more than 1 Lakh Crores(the estimated amount is around 1.93 Lakh crores).Why the honorable president Mrs.Pratibha Patil is silent on these issues?


Everyone knows the history of congress.They have great history of enforcing emergency when Mrs.Indira Gandhi's election victory was about to be disqualified.After dissolving the NTR govt., in Andhra, Mrs.Indira Gandhi said in parliament that she don't know anything about the dissolving of Andhra govt.Even in recent times,last time in Jharkand,in the year 2005,when the BJP had the support of 41 MLAs and it was also proved in Assembly, the then Jharkhand governor, invited Shibu Soren to form government.When BJP argued that they had the support of 41 MLAs,the Soren's JMM and congress claimed that they have the support of 42 MLAs. But the total strength of Jharkhand assembly itself is 81.How funny!!Isn't it?But after the supreme court intervened,Soren was forced to quit and Mr.Arjun Munda became CM,thats a different story.

Another gentleman in this issue is Kumarasamy.He was the former CM of Karnataka.Actually the Janata Dal(Secular :D) and the BJP together formed the government last time.There was an agreement that for the first 2 and half years the CM will be from JD(S) and the next 2 and half yrs CM will be from BJP.But after 2 and half years Kumarasamy refused to resign and he tried to form government with the help of congress.But all his efforts went in-vain.Later BJP won the assembly elections with a good majority.

But coming to the other side,just because these people have bad track records I can't conclude whatever happened in Karnataka assembly as right.There is no clear-cut legal reason for disqualifying the MLAs.The BJP should have faced the trust vote boldly.No matter even if they lose,they should not have given room for this much controversy.Anyway the governor has given one more chance to Yeddyurappa to prove majority on 14th oct.2010.And there is a case against the way the trust was conducted,in high court.If the govt couldn't give valid reasons,the trust vote will be considered invalid and the BJP govt might be dissolved.So let us wait for the court verdict.

For a national party like BJP,such incidents will not give a neat image.It can't gain any respect from public.Anyway if the court concludes disqualifying MLAs illegal,then the act of the speaker Bopaiah has to be vehemently condemned.

Let us wait and see what the court says in this issue.

Autonomy for Kashmir?

It has been quite a while since I have updated this space with politics.Its time to analyze Kashmir.For the past 2 months or so,there has been lots of talk going on about Kashmir.More than 100 people were killed.The situation now seems to be bit better(only a bit),but still the panic remains.It all started off when a young boy was killed by the police when trying to control an angry mob.But is it not foolish to believe that only because of this incident there has been so much of chaos in Kashmir?Don't you think something else is behind all these nonsense?


Many intellectuals claim that the stone pelting young boys are none other than our own citizens and its all because their basic needs are not fulfilled.But the point is the separatist groups are making use of this opportunity and they brainwash these youngsters to indulge in all sorts of anti social activities.So what's the action taken by the honorable CM of Kashmir,Mr.Omar Abdullah? He is announcing that he is ready for talks with all the groups. His latest statement is as follows:


"J&K’s accession to India is under an agreement and it is not the merger.”


And he is demanding talks with Pakistan.The honorable home minister Mr.P Chidambaram too claims that J&K has entered into accession under unique circumstances.Its a known fact that Pakistan is behind this unrest in Kashmir.The thing is,the whole Kashmir was burning.Daily so many people are being killed.But the PM of India,didn't even utter a single word about this issue.And the heir of the congress party Rahul Gandhi,who was busy in developing the party,most probably the next PM candidate of the congress party,he too didn't give much importance to this issue.After the opposition parties started pressurizing the govts., finally the PM stepped in.He said special privileges will be given to Kashmir.Finally the PM says he will consider giving autonomy for Kashmir.


The prince,Mr.Rahul Gandhi too finally broke his silence on the issue.He says Omar needs more time to tackle this issue.My question is how much time does he need?It is this congress which has split the nation into two(Pakistan) and still we are paying price for it.. 


                             


I have a question to the central government.It is this Indian govt., which supplied arms to SriLankan army.The sinhalese army was like a bunch of scout boys.They couldn't defeat the LTTE.But the Lankan army was given adequate training.Lakhs and lakhs of innoncent Tamil civilians were killed by sinhalese army.Intellectuals argued that death of civilians is common in wars. When questioned,why they are against giving a separate state,Tamil EEZHAM(தமிழ் ஈழம்),the intellectuals and the central govt gave a reply that, separating Tamils from Lanka will de-stabilize the integrity of the nation(Srilanka). So they didn't support Eezham.Mr.Pranab Mukherjee,gave a firm reply that "terrorism of any form cannot be tolerated".So,they did all possible help to the sinhalese army to destroy the Tamils sorry LTTE and to save the integrity of Srilanka.


Can't this logic be applied to the case of Kashmir?Infact,citing Kashmir only an autonomous state for the Lankan Tamils has been opposed by the central government. In Srilanka,2 different races exists.The Sinhalese and Tamils. There the rights of Tamils has been suppressed for quite a long time and the sinhala people treat the Tamils as their slaves.Its enough if a Sinhala boy scores 35% in exams to get a pass,whereas a Tamil student has to score more marks(around 60% I guess,not sure of the number). This is just an example.This is how Tamils are treated in Lanka.The Tamils are exploited.But still the govt speaks about the integrity of Srilanka.So,in my opinion nothing wrong in giving an autonomous state to the Lankan Tamils.But is the condition same in Kashmir too?


As per the Indian constitution,any Indian citizen has the right to vote,right to contest in elections etc. and  Kashmiris are no exception.In Jammu Hindus constitute the majority population and in Kashmir it is the Muslims. So there is no point in giving an autonomy to Kashmir.Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,the iron man of India,with a great hard-work, integrated  all the states,but it seems the current govt will easily destabilize the nation by giving autonomous status for all the states .


What needs to be done?


The situation came to a temporary halt.But Omar Abdullah,gave permission to Syed Ali Geelani,chairman of 'hardline' Hurriyat Conference(HC),to hold a rally,due to which again the stone pelting started and the situation became worse.After this incident, Omar cried foul.He expressed his disappointment towards Geelani and said its a betrayal of trust.


This incident itself proves how dumb he is.Article 356 of the Indian constitution has to be enforced in Kashmir and Omar's government has to be dismissed.Kashmir has to be declared as tensed state(பதற்றம் நிறைந்த மாநிலம் ) and the army has to be given full power until the situation comes under control.Then fresh elections has to be conducted and a new govt has to be formed.


But these things are most unlikely to happen and it seems the congress government will successfully split the nation into many parts again.

And she left me again....

This is my second story in this blog.Its all about love.And again this is purely my imagination.Of course,you people might have come across similar situations either in your lives or in cinemas,dramas etc.. Anyway those things got nothing to do with this story,I just felt like writing this.So whatever am writing here is my own imagination and the readers of this blog are free to perceive anything about me or my story.

"It was getting late and I was rushing up to catch the train.I reached Chennai central and was getting into my compartment with all my luggage. After arranging everything I sat on my place.I have to leave Chennai for time being,as I have been asked by my company to take care of the practice in Bangalore.

It was around 8.30 PM,I had to travel a long distance.Thinking of it,started reading a book(My Country My Life,by L K Advani).All of a sudden another passenger got in.She was well dressed in a neat chudidhar.She was speaking busily with someone using her bluetooth device.But I observed her when she was at a long distance.She started marching towards me.She was getting closer and closer to me.

Suddenly she stopped at me and was stunned.Oh my God!!! Even am shell shocked here..

"Hey Varun!!!!" - Ritu exclaimed at me... Yes it was Ritika@Ritu..

"Rii.. Rii.. Ritu?.." - I stammered at her.. And she nodded her head..

"hey.. what a situation it is.. how are u?how is life?what r u upto?..."- out of enthusiasm she triggered out 'n' no. of questions to me..

"yes Ritu am doing great!!! "- i stopped with it.. I was so excited that am going to travel with her for some 6 more hours atleast.. I wanted to ask a 1000 questions to her all at once.. but I kept myself calm and composed...

Who is this Ritu?

I was crazily in love with Ritu when I was in college...I used to go to class at  8'o' clock itself and at that time none else will be there in class.. But still I went to class so early,so that I will be the first person to tell her good morning :-).. She is an awesome singer.. She has been practicing carnatic music right from childhood.. I simply go mad when I listen to her "Jagadhodhaaranaa"  song.. I have recorded it in my mobile and I used to hear it daily in early mornings..


And she too knew that am crazy about her voice..Once a singing competition was announced in college and we saw the ad only at last moment.. She really wanted to participate in it.. But when she went there,there was a huge que and the climate was burning like anything.. She couldn't stand there for more than half an hour and she gave up with a lot of disappointment.. But I stood in the que for her.. I stood there for 6 long hours.. I gave her name and paid the entry fee.. When I told this to her,Ritu was jumping out of joy..She participated and won first prize too..


College days were soooo good,but.. A new guy,Rakesh,who was a lateral entrant joined us..If I went to coll at 8 to wish her first,this guy used to wish her in bus stop itself daily before me :-(..We 3 became bit close..I started feeling insecure whenever Rakesh spoke with her.. 

I bought a rose,ring,a greeting card and her favorite Sujatha novels..I decided to propose her.. Its to time to express my love..I was waiting for her in college park.. To my surprise,she came with a rose towards me.. Lot of Ilayaraja songs started running in my mind..

"pls say i love u ritu....."-thats my mind voice


"Varun,am confused help me out.."- Ritu
I was confused..Ritu continued.."Rakesh gave this rose to me.. he is asking my opinion.. what shall i do?"

oh shit!!!i was completely collapsed..The pain which I had was even worser than a massive heart attack..Tears started dropping out of my eyes..Lot of things were running in my mind.. something stopped me from expressing my love at that time..Still I managed..With a heavy heart I said this:


"its your life Ritu..u have to decide.."


It has been 2 months since the incident took place..She was still in a dilemma to accept Rakesh's proposal.. And my college life came to an end.. She again asked my suggestion about Rakesh's proposal.. I thought,she too likes him.. So I stood by my words that its her life and she has to decide.. But the pain was there in my heart still.. My lips said those words,but my heart said something different as follows:


"pls reject him Ritu.. accept me..dont u know that u r my world?"..


But she left me.. She went to Delhi,this was the last information I got abt her..


And after this,I left Chennai and went to Pondicherry and stayed there for some months with my friend.. I got a job in a MNC then..I slowly started concentrating on my job... 

This is the flashback(quite lengthy na.. :P).. Coming back to reality..

"Varun where were u all these yrs..i searched for u and tried to contact u so many times,but couldn't,as I couldn't get any details about u"- Ritu

"So Mrs.Ritu Rakesh,how is Rakesh"- I asked

"no Varun.. am still Ms.Ritu..u know what right from the day I left u,I have been thinking about u only..I..I understood ur feelings only after our separation.. to b frank,I will b very happy to become Mrs.Varun :-)" - Ritu

"Sorry I lost interest in you.. I never remembered u even once in these 5 yrs"- I tried to manage(but only with a heavy heart).. but my cellphone rang.. the ringtone was "Jagadhodharana"(her voice)..Couldn't control anymore my eyes became wet..She understood me..

All of a sudden she hugged me tightly.. There was no lust in this hug,but I could feel her pure love..She was crying and still smiling..I couldn't manage anymore.. I too hugged her tightly..I felt like the entire world is in my arms..

And she said,"yes u never remembered me in these 5 yrs.. only if u forget me,u need to remember me.. but u never forgot me.. u were always thinking about me.. i was always in ur thoughts...am feeling heaven Varun.. feeling heaven here"

She continued..

"Had you proposed me in atleast those last 2 months,by this time I would have been yours Varun,I would have been urs"

and she asked me like a kid- "Will u marry me?"

My mind was filled with full of joy..but her voice turned bit rough now.. I started hearing different words.. 

"Its already 7.30 Varun,get up,someone has sent an invitation to u"- this is my Mum..

I read the invitation,which said:

A nostalgic journey to Potheri SRM College

Finally back to college.. Oh no,not in real life,but in this world of blogging.Yes this post is all about my some happy moments of my college life.Every single second was a happy moment for me when I was in college.And yes am from SRM Institute of Science & Technology(SRM University),Kattankulathur campus. Well I used to go only in train to college.I will start from Tambaram and will get down at Potheri(see pic).Its hardly a 20 minute journey(if the train doesn't stop due to signals).The fun starts from Tambaram itself.But my close friends start the day with a bang from Egmore,Saidapet etc..

I joined SRM in 2005 Aug.I am basically not from Chennai.I have heard about the 'kind-of-treatment' in Jeppiyar institutions.So I expected something similar in SRM too.Fortunately here things were quite different,that people started bunking classes in 1st sem itself :-).I never hesitated to speak with guys in my college and as a result from day-1 I started roaming with a gang of guys.Fearing ragging in trains,in the initial days I used to go in buses.Then only I learnt that lot of beautiful gals from SRM and Valliammai College were travelling in bus.For the 1st one month,I used to travel alone in bus and what else I can do?Sight..

Then I started going by train and we became a gang[Naanga motham 10 per,engalukku decency eh kidayathu :D]

.All were depressed and disappointed when our 2nd semester results came since many guys got arrears(my friend Gokul expected 2,but unfortunately he escaped :D with no arrears).But there was one person who never bothered abt the result and was completely happy&satisfied with the result.Yes your honor,u r right,its me.Now you don't think that I cleared all the subjects.I too got 2 arrears.My friend asked me:

"Macha what da u r so happy?u cleared everything huh?"

I replied-"No 2 wickets(electronic devices and digital electronics) gone"

my friend-"then how r u so happy?", I replied-"I expected some 3 or 4 da,thank God,it stopped with 2"

My parents-"ithu unakkoru paadam"

My reply-"onnu illa paa 2 paadam" 

I was like this only.But as days passed on,our friendship bonding got strengthened.What I really felt/feel as a biggest achievement in my college life is that,I never had people,who considered me as their enemy.

This is how I used to sit in college park and we will keep on passing comments on whoever crosses us.We will keep teasing each other.None was spared,including me :D.

It was in my 3rd year,college life took some different twists and turns.There was a subject called personality development.That was a subject to enhance our soft-skills and it was handled by a Madam named Deepa[nice mam :-)].One day she asked one of us to speak about any topic for 2 minutes.Since I was desperate to make some political speeches :D,I went and shouted something.My friends encouraged me by giving good comments :-).It was my class,which at no instance degraded any student about his/her communication skills.Even when we stammer on stage,the whole class will listen wait until the person completes and u can hear the same kind of claps when every student completes his speech.

Then comes the famous title to me,'RamuJi' :D.There is a history behind this title.I got pass mark in mathematics in a cycle test.So people started calling me as 'Ramanujam'(maths genius).Now u need not think whether it is so difficult to get pass in that subject.Its not like that,but,it was sooooooo difficult for me to get pass mark in cycle tests :D.My friend Gokul(mavane :x) gave this title 'RamuJi' to me,since he felt it was stylish( Enna koduma sir ithu?).From that day onwards all started mocking me by saying RamuJi :D and I really felt bad for getting pass mark in a subject :-(.

Another part is ragging.We ragged so many juniors.Guys,gals no partiality in this alone :D.Most of the ragging will take place in canteen and electric train.Its a real risk to rag in other places.We will ask guys to drive car using 50p coin,will make them go for a march past.One day I caught hold of a guy.All my friends were ragging only Tamilians.Its too bad to be partial right?So I caught a north Indian guy.The moment I caught him, he told,"bayya bayya Tamil nahin maalum bayya". My friend yelled at him-"u know English na?then what"... that guy was so clever-"bayya bayya muje english nahin maalum bayya".. "Arreh bayya muje Hindi maalum,thum ithar aavo"-ya its me..Goyyale yaar kitta?

While travelling in train,we used to speak all non-sense.I saw gal and as usual I started passing funny comments about that girl to my friend,who was standing on foot-board.Oh shit!!Then only I came to know that I was speaking to a stranger and my friend was behind me.Then what,as usual,we were laughing for some 1 hr about this :D.It was during this train travel my friend M S Karthik will bash us in bad words,loudly, for making fun of him :D.

My friends GK and Harish Bharath used to fight for Sachin Tendulkar respectively.Myself and Gokul will be one team(Ajith fans) and will bash actor Vijay and will tease my friend Harish.He too is no lesser to us,he will also give punching counters,but the audience hated Vijay more than Ajith,so most of the time we will only win :D.My another important friend Naveeth(Bhai) will spice up the arguments with his powerful comments :D

Now it wont be fair if I don't mention about KoushikBarath(Science).I named him science on day 2 itself.I have a funny pic of him in my system.I used to threaten him that I will put it in orkut,fb etc.He will still get frightened for this blackmail.But,science,if u r reading this post,make it sure that u make good comments about this post.Else I will put that pic in orkut :D.

Another important person is Jagadish.He always used to give lectures about girls to me :D.

Finally I too took a seminar in SRM.They made me take a seminar.The topic was GPRS.Most of them enjoyed it thoroughly.Not because of my wonderful explanation,but because of the comedies which I made.I was speaking about actress Genelia and some beautiful girls to explain GPRS[ada practical examples ba](see pic below)

Then came the campus interviews.I never got selected in any company until my college life was over :D.But later I got some offer,blah blah..,lets not get into it now :D.

Now this is September month.I have to mention this here.The only birthday which I celebrated in college with my friends with lot of fun means,it was during final year.17-09-2008 was the date.Had a great time like this :

Hmm.. I am able to understand ur questions.. You are asking me what about girls.Honestly speaking, I have never moved with a girl in my 4 yr college life.But still there were some good girls :-),who considered me too as their friend and I too consider them as my friend.We went for an outing to IG resort.There again I teased everyone by making some normal mimicry.My friends gave an overwhelming response and encouraged me to do more and enjoyed it thoroughly.After that some girls with whom I have never spoken with,became my friends :-).Thanks to social networks.. But for these social networks(orkut,fb etc),I wouldn't have spoken with many people in my life.

Now am really missing such an awesome life.One guy is in Navy,one guy is in Shillong,some people in US etc etc.. The thing is am not even able to meet guys who r in Chennai regularly.Happy that am able to meet atleast few guys in regular intervals.Whenever I pass through SRM college,I want to get into college.I will be happy if time machine becomes a reality.I will go back to my college life and will stay there forever.I will ask Sabha sir and Jeba sir to take class and will sit in last bench and enjoy.I want to do a final year project once again,with Sumathi mam as my guide.. Again I will buy it from Spiros technology itself,coz still I don't know to do projects on my own :D.I am really missing my Andhra friends Keshava,Munaga,Sarangaru,Kerala frnds Jithin,Ismail etc.. I met some 100% pure-natured guys like Manikandans(2 Manis are there).Its not so easy to get a friend like Naveeth bhai,who used to support me and other friends at all occasions.

Now is it possible to go to SRM college with same gang and re-do my UG again(but without paying fees)?

Note: What I have written is just 0.1% of our atrocities.That too with lots and lots of censor :D. You can imagine how it would have been in reality :-).

And I dedicate this post to all the 2009 passed outs of SRM college.

மக்கள் எவ்வழி மன்னன் அவ்வழி

மதிப்பிற்குரிய வாசகர்களே முதல் முறையாக இந்த தளத்தில் முழுக்க முழுக்க தமிழில் ஒரு பதிவை பதிக்க விரும்புகிறேன். இது இணையதளத்தில் எனது முதல் முயற்சி,பிழை இருந்தால் மன்னித்து கொள்ளவும்.

இங்கு நான் ஒரு நாடகத்தை எழுதவிருக்கிறேன். இது முழுக்க முழுக்க என்னுடைய கற்பனையே.இந்த நாடகத்தில் வரும் அணைத்து வசனங்களும்,சம்பவங்களும் மற்றும் கதாபாத்திரங்களும் கற்பனையே. இது உண்மை கதை அல்ல.இது என் கற்பனை நாட்டில் பொற்கால ஆட்சி[:P] புரியும் ஒரு மன்னனை பற்றிய நாடகம்.

கதை சுருக்கம்: புதிதாக மந்திரி பதவி ஏற்றிருக்கும் சரவணன் மன்னனின் ஆட்சி மற்றும் மக்களின் வாழ்கை தரம் குறித்து மன்னனுடன்  உரையாடுகிறான்.இப்படி சாதரணமாக ஆரம்பிக்கும் இந்த உரையாடல் எதில் முடிகிறது என்பது தான்  இந்த நாடகத்தின் சாராம்சம்.

காவலாளி : ராஜாதி ராஜ,ராஜ மார்த்தாண்ட,ராஜ கம்பீர,ராஜ குலத்திலக தயாள ராஜா வருகிறார் வருகிறார் வருகிறார்

[மந்திரி சபையில் அனைவரும் எழுந்து நிற்கிறார்கள். மன்னன் அமர்கிறார்.சற்று நேரம் அனைவரும் நிற்பதை ரசித்து விட்டு அனைவரையும் அமரும்படி தலையசைக்கிறார்.]

மன்னன் : இந்த காவலாளியை கைது செய்து இருள் நிறைந்த சிறையில் அடையுங்கள்.

(ஏன் என அனைவரும் குழம்ப,மன்னர் தொடர்கிறார்) இவன் என்னை தயாளன் என்று கூறிவிட்டான். அதற்காக தான் இந்த தண்டனை.

சரவணன்(அறிவழகனிடம் கேட்கிறான்) : தயாளன் தானே மன்னரின் பெயர்,அதை சொன்னதற்கா இந்த தண்டனை? 

அறிவழகன் : ஒய் மங்குனி மந்திரியாரே!! மன்னரை தர்மசீலர்,தலைவர் இப்படி தான் அழைக்க வேண்டும். அவர் பெயர் சொல்லி அழைத்தால் அதை அவர் ஒரு இழுக்க்காகவே கருதுகிறார்.

(சரவணனுக்கு இது வியப்பாகவே இருந்தது சற்று கேவலமெனவும் கருதினான்,இருந்தும் அமைதி காத்தான்)

மன்னன் (அறிவழகனை நோக்கி) : எனது இன்றைய நிகழ்சிகளை பட்டியலிடு 

அறிவழகன்(முகத்தில் ஒரு அசட்டு சிரிப்புடன் ) : மன்னா சென்ற வாரம் கலை கூத்தாடிகளுக்கு அவர்களுடைய வீடுகளை மீண்டும் அவர்களுக்கே கொடுத்து விட்டீர்கள் அல்லவா, அந்த தியாகச்செயலை பாராட்டி இன்று மாலை  தங்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஒரு விழா எடுக்கிறார்கள்.

மன்னன் : பலே பலே!! ஆனால் நான் அவர்கள் வீடுகளை சென்ற வாரமே  திருப்பி கொடுத்ததும் இப்போது தான் விழா எடுக்கிறார்களா?என்ன கேவலம்? காக்கை கூட்டம் எப்போதும் இப்படி தான் காலம் கடந்து கிடைத்த உதவிகளுக்கெல்லாம் உடனே விழா எடுப்பார்கள். ஆனால் எனக்கு மட்டும் ஒரு வாரம். இருந்தாலும் நமக்கு விழா தான் முக்கியம் ஆகையால் இதற்கு சம்மதிக்கிறேன்.சரி வேறு ஏதேனும் சேதி உண்டா?

அறிவழகன் : இல்லை மன்னா !!! 

மன்னன் : சரி அவை கலையலாம்!! சரவணா நீ மட்டும் என்னுடன் வா.

(சரவணன் ஒன்றும் விளங்காமல் குழப்பத்துடன் மன்னனை பின் தொடர்ந்து செல்கிறான்)

மன்னன் : நீ மந்திரி சபைக்கு புதிதாய் வந்திருப்பவன்!! இங்கு நடப்பவை குறித்து உனக்கு பல குழப்பங்கள் இருப்பதை என்னால் உணர முடிகிறது. உன் கருத்துக்களை என்னிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்.

சரவணன் : மன்னா நாட்டுக்கெல்லாம் பகுத்தறிவை போதிக்கும் தாங்கள்,தங்களுடைய விரல்களில் இத்தனை விதமான கல் பதித்த மோதிரம் அணிந்திருப்பதன் காரணம்?

மன்னன் : சரவணா,என் ஜாதகப்படி இப்படி கல் பதித்த மோதிரம் அணிந்தால் ஆட்சி என்றும் என்னிடமே இருக்கும் என்று என் குடும்ப ஜோசியன் கூறினான். அதற்காக தான் அணிகிறேன். இந்த பகுத்தறிவு,உபதேசம்,போதனை இவை எல்லாம் மற்றவருக்கு தானே தவிர எனக்கில்லை.

சரவணன் : சென்ற மாதம் தங்கள் அண்ணாவின்(I mean brother) பிறந்தநாள் என்று,கொலை, கொள்ளை,கற்பழிப்பு,குண்டுவெடிப்பு போன்ற கொடிய குற்றங்கள் செய்த பலரை விடுதலை செய்துள்ளீர்களே? இது தவறல்லவா?

மன்னன் : நீ இதில் ஒன்றை கவனிக்க வேண்டும். நான் விடுவித்ததில் பலர்,தங்கள் சமூகத்தினரிடையே சற்று செல்வாக்கு வாய்ந்தவர்கள்.அவர்களை விடுதலை செய்தால் அந்த செல்வாக்கு நமக்கு வாக்குகளாக மாறும். அப்போது நீ சொல்லும் தவறு செல்லா வாக்காக போகும்.

சரவணன் : விடுதலையானவர்கள் மீண்டும் அதே தவறை செய்தால் பாதிக்கப்படுவது நம் மக்கள் தானே?

மன்னன் : பாதிக்கப்படப்போவது  என் மக்கள் அல்லவே சரவணா? ஒன்றை நன்றாக புரிந்து கொள், எனக்கு என்றும் மக்கள் நலம் தான் முக்கியம். அதாவது என் மக்களின் நலம்,எனக்கு பிறந்த மக்களின் நலம். என் மக்களின் பதவிக்கு ஒரு ஆபத்தென்றால் நான் வடக்கே சென்று அங்கு பரம்பரை பரம்பரையாய் ஆட்சி புரியும் அந்த பெரிய குடும்பத்தினரிடம் முரயிட்டேனும் அவர்களுக்கு பதவிகளை பெற்று கொடுப்பேன். 

சரவணன்(எத்தனை கொடிய எண்ணம் இந்த மன்னனுக்கு?) : சரி மன்னா மக்கள் பற்றி கூறினீர்களே தங்களுக்கு பிறகு யார் அரசாள்வது? மூத்த மகன் அழகனா,இளையவர் லெனினா,மகள் அருள்மொழியா அல்லது...?

மன்னன்(ஆத்திரத்துடன்) : சரவணா!!! எனக்கென்ன அப்படி வயதாகி விட்டது என் அடுத்த வாரிசை பற்றி சிந்திக்க? நான் 82 vayathu இளைஞன் தானே? இன்றும் என்னுடைய உடலும் உள்ளமும் இளமையாய் இருக்க யோகா பயிற்சி செய்கிறேனே. பிறகேன் அடுத்த தலைமுறை பற்றி சிந்தனை?

சரவணன் : மன்னா தமிழ் என்றாலே தாங்கள் தான் என்பது போன்ற ஒரு தோற்றத்தை உருவாக்கி விட்டீர்கள்? பிறகு என் தங்கள் மகனுக்கு லெனின் என்று பெயர் வைத்தீர்கள்?

மன்னன் : அப்படி கேள்.லெனின் ஒரு சிறந்த போராளி.அப்போதே கம்யுனிச சித்தாந்தத்தால் ஈர்க்க பட்டதால் தான் இந்த பெயர் சூட்டினேன்.

(உரையாடலுக்கு இடையே மின்சார துறை மந்திரி ஆறுசாமி உள்ளே நுழைகிறார்)

ஆறுசாமி : மன்னா நமக்கெதிராக அந்த பத்திரிக்கையில் செய்தி வெளியாகி உள்ளது.

மன்னன் : உடனே அந்த அலுவலகத்தை துவம்சம் செய்யச்சொல்.

ஆறுசாமி : மன்னா நமது தளபதி லெனினை  தலைமையேற்க சொல்லவா?

மன்னன் : அவன் இந்த வேலைக்கி சரிபட்டு வரமாட்டான்யா.நீ அழகன கூப்பிடு. அவன் தான் இதுக்கெல்லாம் சரி.

[ஆறுசாமி விடை பெற்று கொள்கிறார்.மன்னனும் சரவணனும் உணவு சாப்பிட செல்கிறார்கள்]

காட்சி-2

[சரவணன் நடந்தவற்றையெல்லாம் கண்டு மிகுந்த மன வருத்தம் அடைகிறான்.சற்று கோபமும் கொண்டு சாப்பிட வர மறுக்கிறான்.இவர்கள் உரையாடல் சொற்போராக மாறுகிறது]

சரவணன் : மன்னா இது நன்றாக இல்லை.

மன்னன் : நீ இன்னும் சாப்டிவே ஆரம்பிக்கவில்லை அதற்குள் நன்றாக இல்லை என்றால் எப்படி?

சரவணன் : போதும் தங்களின் நய்யாண்டி. தங்கள் செய்கைகளை விமர்சித்த ஒரு பத்திரிக்கையாளரை சட்டத்துக்கு புறம்பாக தாக்குவதா? சட்டத்தை பாதுகாக்கிற தாங்களே சட்டத்தை மீறுவதா? இதை என்னால் ஜீரணிக்க முடியாது. இதனால் மக்கள் கிளர்ச்சி உண்டானால் என்ன செய்வீர்கள்?

மன்னன் : சரவணா நீ இந்த மக்களை வச்சி காமெடி கீமெடி பண்ணிலியே? இவனை உதைத்தால் இன்னொருவன் விமர்சிப்பான். அப்போது அந்த பத்திரிக்கையாளனின் சமூகத்தின் பெயரை சொல்லி புது பிரச்னையை கிளப்புவேன். வேறொரு சமூகத்தை அவனுக்கெதிராக துண்டி விடுவேன். என்ன மிஞ்சி மிஞ்சி போனால் விசாரணை கமிஷன் வைப்பார்கள். அந்த கமிஷன எப்படி சந்திக்கறதுன்னு எனக்கு தெரியும் யா.

சரவணன் : இது ஜனநாயக படுகொலை. நான் மன்னராட்சியை ஒழித்து ஜனநாயக முறையில் நடைபெறும் ஆட்சியை நமது நாட்டிலேயே கொண்டுவந்து தங்களுடைய அகந்தையை அடக்குகிறேன்.

மன்னன் : ஜனநாயகமா? அப்படி ஒன்று இருக்கிறதா என்ன? பாட்டன் முப்பாட்டன் காலத்திலிருந்து பரம்பரை பரம்பரையாக ஆட்சி புரிபவர்கள் பலர் வடக்கில் இல்லையா என்ன? 

சரவணன் : அதைப்பற்றி எல்லாம் எனக்கு கவலை இல்லை.நான் மன்னராட்சியை ஒழித்து மக்களாட்சியை நிறுவத்தான் போகிறேன்,அதை நீங்கள் பார்க்கத்தான் போகிறீர்கள்.

மன்னன் : எனக்கு பின்னால் இந்நாட்டில் என் மக்கள் ஆட்சி வேண்டுமானால் ஏற்படலாம். அனால் நீ கனவு காண்பது  போன்ற மக்களாட்சி என்பது என்றும் பகல் கனவு தான்.

[நடந்தவற்றை கவனித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அறிவழகன் கோபமாக உள்ளே நுழைகிறார்]

அறிவழகன் : மன்னா இவனை இப்போதே சிறையில் அடைத்தால் என்ன?

மன்னன் : வேண்டாம் இவன் கூவட்டும். சிறையில் அடைத்தால் இவனை தியாகி என்று கூறி கடற்கரை அறுகே சிலை வைத்து விடும் கூட்டம் தான் இந்நாட்டு மக்கள். இவனுக்கும் ஒரு வாய்ப்பு கொடுப்போம் .

[தன் ஆக்ரோஷமான பேச்சுக்களாலும் அயராத உழைப்பினாலும் ஒரு மாபெரும் கூட்டத்தை சரவணன் திரட்டிவிட்டான். அந்த கூட்டத்துடன் அரண்மனையை நோக்கி படையெடுத்து வருகிறான்.பிறகு...]

சரவணன் : மக்கள் விரோத ஆட்சி புரியும் மன்னனே  வெளியே வா.பார் உனக்கெதிராக திரண்டிருக்கும் கூட்டத்தை பார்.

மன்னன்( இரண்டு காவலாளிகள் மற்றும் அறிவழகனுடன் வெளியே வருகிறான்) : எத்தனை பெரிய கூட்டம்? சரவணா நீ உண்மைலேயே திறமைசாலி தான்(தனக்கே உரிய தலைகனத்துடன் சிரிக்கிறான்)

சரவணன் : போதும் உன் சிரிப்பு. உன் காலம் முடிந்தது.இனி மக்கள் ஆட்சியே.நான் கனவு கண்டது போன்ற மக்கள் ஆட்சியே. வெற்றி எனக்கே. 

[தன்னுடன் வந்த மாபெரும் மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை நோக்கி சொல்கிறான்]

சரவணன் : இந்த மதிகெட்ட மன்னனை கைது செய்யுங்கள். இந்த அறிவிழந்த அரசனை ஆட்சியிலிருந்து துக்கி வீசுங்கள்.

[மக்கள் கூட்டம் கைது செய்தது,சிறு திருத்தும் மன்னனை அல்ல,சரவணனை].

சரவணன் : என்ன இது? என்னை என் கைது செய்கிறீர்கள்?

மன்னன் : காட்சிகள் ஒன்றும் இரண்டும் தான் சரவணா நீ அறிவாய்,இடையில் காட்சி -3 குறைகிறதே என்று உன் அறிவுக்கு எட்டவில்லையா? 

என்ன கொடுமை சரவணன் இது?

 இடையில் காட்சி மூன்றில் நடந்தது என்ன என்பதை நான் விளக்குகிறேன் கேள் [மன்னன் சரவணனை தனி அறைக்கு அழைத்து செல்கிறான்]

நீ சேர்த்த கூட்டத்தில் பெரும்பான்மையானோர் என் பக்கம் சேர்வதற்கு நான் பயன் படுத்திய ஆயுதம் "பட்டை சாராயமும் பிரியாணி பொட்டலங்களும்" தான். ஆனாலும் சும்மா சொல்ல கூடாது நீ சேர்த்தது மாபெரும் கூட்டத்தை தான். செலவு சற்று அதிகமாகத்தான் இருந்தது. மேல் நாடுகளில் பிரபலமான வண்ண தொலைகாட்சி பெட்டிக்களை இலவசமாக அளிப்பேன் என்று வாக்குறுதி அளித்தேன். அனைவருக்கும் இரண்டு ஏக்கர் நிலம் அளிப்பேன் என்றும் சொன்னேன். நீ சேர்த்த கூட்டம் எத்தனை பித்து பிடித்த பேராசை பிடித்த கூட்டம் என்று பார்த்தாயா? இந்நாட்டில் மொத்தம் இருப்பதே ஒரு லட்சம் ஏக்கர் நிலம் தான், ஆனால் இந்நாட்டில் ஒரு லட்சம் குடும்பங்கள் வசிக்கின்றன. ஒரு குடும்பத்திற்கு இரண்டு ஏக்கர் என்று கணக்கிட்டால் கூட சுலபமாக என் வார்த்தை ஜாலத்தை உணர்ந்திருக்கலாம்.

இவர்கள் உணர மாட்டார்கள் சரவணா. இந்த நாட்டில் உன் போன்ற லட்சியவாதிகளுக்கு மதிப்பில்லை.என் போன்று லட்சங்களிலும் கோடிகளிலும் மிதப்பவருக்கு தான் மதிப்பு.

என்னை ஆட்சியில் அமர்த்த என்னிடமே பணம் பெற்று கொள்ளும் இந்த மனிதர்களையா  நம்பி நீ களத்தில் இறங்கினாய்? என்னை ஆட்சியில் அமர்த்தவே லஞ்சம் வாங்கும் இந்த மக்கள் நான் வாங்கும் லஞ்சத்தை பற்றியா கவலைப்பட போகிறார்கள்? பைத்தியக்காரா. இவர்கள் எதிர்பார்ப்பது என் போன்ற தலைவனைத்தானே தவிர உன் போன்றவர்களை அல்ல. இப்போதும் உனக்கு நான் எந்த தண்டனையும் வழங்கப்போவதில்லை. நீ மிக மிக திறமைசாலி,நீ நினைத்தால் இந்த மதிகெட்ட மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை என்னை விட நன்றாகவே ஏமாற்றலாம். உனக்காக அரசவை கதவுகள் எப்போதும் திறந்தே இருக்கும்.

ஆனால் ஒன்றை மட்டும் நன்றாக புரிந்து கொள், மன்னன் எவ்வழியோ மக்கள் அவ்வழி என்ற காலம் மாறி பல நூற்றாண்டுகள் ஆகி விட்டன. இன்றைய நிலை இது தான் : "மக்கள் எவ்வழி மன்னன் அவ்வழி".

Happy(??) Independence Day

Our 64th Independence day is fast approaching.Coming sunday we are going to celebrate our 64th Independence day.For people who love this nation,this is an important day.They will spend quite some time to think about the sacrifices of GandhiJi,NethaJi,V.O.Chidambaram Pillai,Mahakavi Subramaniya Barathiyar etc. For people,to whom this nation is not so important,this day is again a happy day, because they will be getting a holiday.Unfortunately this time the Independence day falls on a sunday,so for them this is just another weekend. For school kids,this day is a happy occassion.Their respective schools will be conducting some speech competitions,dance competitions,singing competitions etc.And more importantly,the schools will give chocolates to the kids. And others will be looking forward to new releases in theaters,ladies will be watching interviews of Surya and Vijay in tv channels and some gents will be eagerly waiting for a Namitha interview.

Lot of differences right?But still we all are called as Indians.Thats why India is a called as a land of Unity-in-Diversity it seems.Coming to the Independence day,let me start off things from school kids.

 Today most of the kids are not aware of the seriousness of Independence or Independence day. For them it is a good time pass in schools.Last year August 15th,I was walking on the streets.Some school kids were going to school. One girl was crying and she was saying that she will not go to school.Her mother convinced her with the following words 

"See Aishu,if you go to school today,they will give you chocolates.Also there will be dance programmes and all".Somehow the girl got convinced and went to school. Is this really fair on that lady's part? When the kid says she is not willing to go to school,how the lady should have convinced her? "Today is our Independence day dear.Lot of great people have sacrificed their entire life for us.As a token of respect for them, today , in school some functions will be conducted, you should attend them, only then you will be considered good girl". Will the child not obey for this? In childhood itself elders should inculcate the feeling of patriotism to children.Then only they will have a lot of love for this nation.If you fail to do this when ur son or daughter is a kid,then it will be too difficult to teach what patriotism means,in a later age.

Now let's discuss about the next group of people who eagerly look forward for new releases in theaters and new movies in tv channels.Am not against spending time in theaters or in home with family and friends on Independence day.But honestly ask this question to yourself,how many of you really think about this nation atleast for a second?How many of us really spend some 10 minutes to buy a flag and to pin it in our shirts? To my knowledge only few people do this.People living in colonies,flats etc can gather into groups and can hoist the national flag during early morning hours and dispose after national anthem.This will not take more than half an hour.Unfortunately most of us fail to do this.

Now lets move towards the media,government and politicians.I would say it is after the invent of these satellite channels,the Independence day has become like some entertainment event.In tv channels most of the programmes are like A day with a so and so actor/actress,Interview with a so and so music director/singer, and some special movies like Thamizh Padam, Kuselan etc. My question is what did the so and so actor or actress contributed to this nation,so that they are interviewed as special persons during Independence days? Instead of these crap programs,these channels can telecast the interviews of some retired army professionals, they can telecast some documentaries about Gandhi or Barathiyar, they can telecast some movies which is really made for a good cause or which is based on freedom struggle etc. But they will never do this, for them business is more important, because none will see documentary films or army officers interviews. So again it is the common man who has to support some good programs like this,then only the media will change.
 
Coming to politicians,oh my god,this space is not enough. I need some gbs of space to describe them. It has been 63 years since we have attained independence.But are we really independent? My answer is NO.We are still unable to make decisions on our own.On 26th Nov,2008,Pakistan- a rogue nation, has launched cowardly attack on our nation. Terrorists short whoever they saw in streets. After this attack, India stopped composite dialogue(அமைதி பேச்சுவார்த்தை) with Pakistan.But the foreign ministers of both the nations will meet at times and will discuss some issues.The prime ministers of both the nations will also meet in some third country and discuss.But still our government will say that they have taken a tough stand against Pak. Even in a recent meet,in which S M Krishna,our external affairs minister and Shah Mahmood Quereshi,Pak's foreign minister took part,the Pak's minister had insulted our minister and he has equated our home secratery with a terrorist.The honorable PM of India didn't even give a single statement about this. In my opinion, he is unfit to be in PMO(Prime Minister Office).He has been only touring other nations all these years.Thats the only way he used his power.Manmohan Singh is the most inefficient Prime Minister in Indian history.

Why India is accepting for such meets,when the govt clearly knows that Pakistan is epicentre of terrorism? Its simple.The govt has yielded to the pressure from US.America needs Pakistan's help to fight terrorists in Afghanisthan.If India starts attacking Pakistan,then Pakistan army will focus Indian border.US wont get the much needed help.So they are helping Pakistan by stopping India from taking any action against the Pak terrorists.Why should we bow down to them?For all these years the Americans are bombing down Afghanisthan.So many people have died,but still Osama is healthy and happy.Why should we depend on America?We should have retaliated strongly after the 26/11 incident.
 
If we see the condition state-by-state,its again at its worst.So many problems.Kashmir is burning.Day by day the death toll is increasing.Lot of people are assaulting the policemen and govt servants?As usual our home minister,Mr.P Chidambaram,has come to a conclusion that they all belongs to Lashkar-e-Toiba(LeT) terrorist group.But the fact is they are all none other than our own Indian citizens.I think it all started off when the rape of a girl became a political issue.Since neither the state nor the central govt were doing enough,a group of frustrated youngsters started throwing stones at the officials. Had the CM of Kashmir or PM of India intervened in this matter in the beginning stage itself, these things wouldn't have gone to this extent at all.Separatist groups like PDP(People Democratic Party),LeT,Hisbul Mujahideen etc started brainwashing the frustrated young brains. They started paying some money to  the youths to indulge into the act of stone pelting.As a result of this the problem has gone to an unbearable extent and the govt has ordered curfew and daily so many people are being shot dead.Till today the Prime Minister has shown zero interest in this issue.I wonder why he calls himself a PM.
 
The govts should convince the civilians in Kashmir that India is a far better place to live compared to the rogue nation.Its easy to do,but the govt is not ready to understand this.On the other hand, there is another state where CRPF jawans are being killed constantly.Its Chattisgarh.There the maoists are constantly killing the police officials.This govt is ready for dialogue with the maoists.When the maoists are determined to kill innocent people by blowing off trains and schools,the govt should show no mercy towards them.They should use full power to crush the maoists.Will the home minister of India and Raman Singh,CM of Chattisgarh, do this?I don't know when the govt is going to take a stable stand on this issue.

Again regarding Bhopal gas tragedy,Warren Anderson,N-Liability bill etc.,I have written a separate post 2 months back in this same space.Again India yielded to the pressure of US in these issues too.All these things clearly shows that 63 yrs gone,but still India is not independent. Wake up people.Wake up friends.Its already too late.Think about this nation.Think about ways to bring about a positive change in our country.Just 1 week to go,we will be celebrating our Independence day.Atleast from now onwards.lets start working to make the independence days atleast in futureto be a real Happy-Independence-Day.

Ugly Games in Indian Sports

Its time to have some sports news now.For all these days there will be lot of criticisms, expert opinions,predictions etc on only one sporting event,which is none other than C-R-I-C-K-E-T.Ofcourse,in India sports means only cricket right.But strangely, for the past few days I am able to see lots and lots of news items about women hockey, weightlifting etc. If u r going to think that the debate is about the performance of the relevant teams means, slap yourself and say, "oh my God,I forgot,this is India and performance related debates are only meant for cricket,am sorry!!!".The news was all about sexual harassment in women hockey and weight lifting.

M K Kaushik,this is the name that was in headlines last week.He was the hockey national team coach of India,until this incident came to light.Ranjita Devi,a player, sent a written complaint to HI(Hockey India),alleging that M K Kaushik,the coach has asked sexual favours from her and also has used abusive language.31 players have signed against this Kaushik.Another person,video analyst,Basavraj was also sacked,as there are allegations that he was in the company of sex workers during the tour of China.

Another case is that of SAI(Sports Authority of India) coach Ramesh Malhotra. Reputed Indian weight lifter Karnam Malleswari ,who was the only Indian to win a medal(bronze) in Sydney olympics(2000),has made allegations against Malhotra that he has been sexually harassing junior weight lifters for more than a decade.She has produced some telephonic conversations to media(I couldn't get them in net,else I would have shared it here).After this allegation,Malhotra was suspended.Malleswari also demanded the removal of Sahdev Yadav,Indian Weightlifting Federation secretary,since he has not responded to her complaints against Malhotra in the past.It has to be noted that Malhotra was recommended by IWF for Dronacharya award for the last 2 yrs.

If we analyse the reason for all these issues,I would say its nothing other than "lack of interest towards sports other than cricket".There are so many such Kaushiks and Malhotras in India.Why these issues were not exposed earlier itself? If reports r to be believed it seems that the harassment has been going on for a very long time.The thing is the politicians wants to make money out of anything and everything.When Saina Nehwal met the sports minister in 2008,with her coach GopiChand,the minister asked an excellent question to her."Who is this person(Gopichand)?".Gopichand has won Rajiv Gandhi Khel Rathna award and all.But the minister couldn't recognize him. So its crystal clear that he doesn't know anything about sports,but still he becomes a minister.

The latest controversy is the one regarding Common Wealth Games.The venues where the CWG will be hosted is too poor it seems.One popular 24/7 news channel exposed the conditions of the venues.An Indian swimmer,after completing the practice,was hurt near the swimming pool,due to bad construction work.Imagine what if the same happens to some international player?Mani Shankar Aiyar,a former sports minister says that he will be very unhappy if the CWG becomes a success.What to do with people with such an attitude?


There are people who argue that in India,cricket is given more importance because Indian cricket team keeps winning most of the time.The bitter truth is that the performance of this team is not as superb as it is being boasted.This is a kind of team which most of the time will be praying for the defeat of other teams.Most of the time situation will be like this only,"if Australia loses this match,then India can enter to next round".So its a perception that India's performance is far superior compared to other sporting events.

Without much help from govt or their respective sporting authority,people have achieved in other sports too.Saina Nehwal,has won 3 consecutive tournaments and is clearly at no.2.Last olympic games saw a new rise in India.3 medals,Abinav Bindra gold medal in shooting,Vijendar and Sushil won bronze in boxing and wrestling respectively. 
Pankaj Advani,has won world Billiards Championshitp,Asian Billiards Championship etc.Vishwanathan Anand has been consistently rocking in Chess.
To be frank,I would rate him as one of the greatest sportsperson in India, as he has given a new lease of life to chess in India,by winning more and more championships.Atleast after the success of these people the govt should have come forward to help these sports.

The Indian hockey team,which was once rocking at international level,is struggling like anything.Its a real pity that our hockey team couldn't even qualify to olympics 2008.The reason which I heard from many people is that Indian hockey took a back when the matches where conducted in turfs.Are we really so dumb that we can't dominate in turfs?My million dollar question is,this is a nation with population more than 100 Crore(and now its growing in exponential rate :D),can't we find some 15 players,who can put up atleast a reasonable performance? There was an excellent player called Dhanraj Pillai. He did a gr8 job,still he was treated badly by the authorities.Then how can v find good players?It has to be noted that Hockey is India's national game :-).

Someone questioned it when will India enter football world cup?


This is the condition of Indian football team.Here also talented guys r there.I read a news during FIFA2010.In Chennai Vyasarpadi slums,there is person who caught some mischievous kids and those who were about to indulge in some anti-social activities and coached them.These guys have participated and won in some international tournaments too.They r very familiar with stats about Messi or Ronaldo or Kaka etc.. When some kids can win matches at international level,can't we find players who can perform at international levels?


Cricket is the most popular game in India-agreed.But that doesn't mean that every Indian who wants to be a sportsman,should necessarily be a cricketer.The govt should provide the same amount of encouragement to every sporting event.


These issues have to be viewed seriously.The media should expose more about all these stuff.Once Sachin scored a double century,the focus shifted towards him and there was no news about Kaushik or Malhotra.


Earlier and all,non-cricketing sports people used to comment that the govts are not doing enough for their sports in terms of money and other facilities.But when the morality of the people involved itself becomes a question mark means,its really dangerous.Politicians should stop viewing sports as a mode of business.Also they should stop looting the money involved in it.I am not going to the IPL-Lalit Modi saga,as I have already dealt with it in another post earlier.


Lets hope the authorities in India wakes up atleast after all these incidents!!!
