MGR - The Leader of Masses

I have been thinking to write something about this great personality and finally I found time to do so. M.G.Ramachandran's(popularly known as MGR) birthday falls on January 17th and so let this post be a token of respect to him.

Let me start about MGR's acting.In my opinion MGR is not a method actor like Sivaji, but still a good actor and entertainer.If you want to know what I actually mean by 'method' acting means,you have to watch movies like Deiva Magan,RajapartRangadhurai etc. Sivaji's acting will be mindblowing in these movies.But when it comes to MGR,he has not done such movies.He started off with small roles in cinema.He got his first break in the movie MandhiriKumari.After that slowly his career graph as an actor progressed well and he became an action hero.

The moment we talk about MGR,the first thing that may come to our mind will be his movies' songs. MGR-TMS-MSV-Kannadasan/Vaali is a golden combo.MGR's movie shooting will commence only after song recording is over(this info I got from elderly people :)).Its not so easy to work with MGR.He is such an intelligent artiste.He had a thorough knowledge in almost every aspect of film-making.He will listen to the tune and lyrics.Only after he gives his nod to go ahead with recording,the song recording will be done.It is said that while working for the movie Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban(directed by MGR himself),M.S.Viswanathan told MGR that he can't work with him any more and he urged MGR to go for someother music director.Reason - MGR was not satisfied with the tunes given by MSV.But MGR had faith in MSV and he asked for better tunes.And finally the movie released and its one of the all-time top-grossers in the history of Tamil Cinema.MGR called MSV and pesonally thanked him for giving good music and told only to get the best out of him,he made him toil so much.

When he saw the preview show of the movie "Alaigal Oivathillai",directed by Barathiraja,he called the director personally and asked him that "I think you have shot an alternative climax too".Barathiraja got astonished,because none knows that he had shot another climax.He got stunned on MGR's knowledge about cinema.

He is a macho-man in real life too.He was well-versed in martial arts(sword fight,silambam etc).While shooting the song "Kashmir beautiful Kashmir",some rogues were passing silly comments on the female dancers and were teasing them.MGR performed a live stunt-show.He beat them severely and handed over to police.He has directed 3 movies and all the 3 were mega hits. Nadodi Mannan,Adimaippen and Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban.

Many think that using his cinematic image MGR became CM easily.Of-course,his fame in cinema helped him very much,no doubt at all,but he didn't become the CM of Tamil Nadu just like that.He has gone through lot of troubles and difficult situations before becoming CM.

He joined the DMK party in the beginning.He worked for the party very much.He was a close friend to Mr.Karunanithi(Tamil Nadu CM).But it was after Anna's death the political scenario changed in TN.MGR was sidelined by Kalaignar.He didn't get the much needed importance.After his expulsion from DMK,MGR started his own political party and named it as Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(ADMK).He faced several obstacles before coming to power.

The DMK threw mic at him.MGR with frustration,threw an open challenge that he will come to the assembly only after he becomes Chief Minister.He became the CM on 30th July,1977 and he remained in the office as CM till his death.In 1979,he supported the Janata Party at the center,which is considered one of his significant political moves.He first supported Charan Singh,but later on he was ready to support 'Babu' Jagajivan Ram. When he extended his support to Mr.Jagajivan Ram,the then president of India,Mr.Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy dissolved the house for obvious reasons.

In 1980,MGR's democratically elected government was dissolved by the congress party,which gave no good reason for it.The congress was in alliance with DMK in 1980.And since the Janata Party couldn't give a stable government at center,people lost confidence on Janata Party and they voted for congress.Because of this the DMK-Congress alliance almost swept the parliament elections held in 1980.So the DMK was of the opinion that if the elections are announced in Tamil Nadu,they can win comfortably.Many predicted a land slide victory for the DMK-Congress alliance.The congress too wanted to take revenge on MGR for supporting Janata Party,so they dismissed the government and fresh elections were conducted.

People proved the predictions wrong.The MGR led ADMK won convincingly while the opposition ended up with egg on its face.In 1984,MGR didn't even visit his constituency for election campaigns.He was getting treatment in America.Some miscreants even spread rumors that MGR was not alive.Again they ended up with egg on their face,as MGR without even visiting his constituency won with a great margin.

In Tamil Nadu till today there is no naxalite problem.When MGR was in power the naxal problem surfaced in TN too.MGR gave a free-hand to police to eliminate naxalites.His bold and tough decision completely eradicated naxalism from TN.Not many politicians in India,has this much guts to fight terrorism,goondaism etc.

MGR brought the free meals scheme for children studying in govt. schools.Now it is one among the World Bank's model schemes.In MGR's rule,there was no caste based politics.He didn't abuse the media by calling it as 'paarpana oodagam'(Brahmin Media).Many use to say that you can light up your stove and then go to MGR's house to get rice(which means you will get rice from his house definitely).He gave almost his entire Ramapuram garden to blind school.

There is a complaint that he used cinema for his political advantage.Yes,he used it.His movies used to carry lot of political dialogs and most of his songs will have politically motivated lyrics too.People who complain on this should understand the very fact that every reputed hero at one point of time will use the mass media in his favor.But not many could taste success in this aspect.If MGR was able to do that successfully means,its purely his intelligence and the dialogs will be very much within the screenplay.If you watch the movie 'Nadodi Mannan',you can understand this.

MGR's roles is that of a communist in that movie(Nadodi Mannan) and accidentally he will be made the king. At that time the ministers will tell him, 

"வீராங்கா நாங்கள் உன்னை நம்பி தான் அதிகாரங்களை உன்னிடம் ஒப்படைக்கிறோம்"

 

for which MGR will reply,

 

அமைச்சர்களே என்னை நம்பாமல் கெட்டவர்கள் நிறைய பேர் உண்டு நம்பி கெட்டவர் இன்று வரை இல்லை.

One more dialog in the same movie.He will reveal to the queen that he is not her husband and he is his lookalike.He will say he will quit and go,but the queen(M.N.Rajam was the actress), will urge him to continue as king,for which he will ask,

 

"சகோதரி இன்னும் என்னை நம்புகிறாயா"

 

for which she will reply,

 

"நான் மட்டும் இல்லை அண்ணா இந்த நாடே உங்களை நம்பி தான் இருக்கிறது".

 

So these dialogs are well within the story and screenplay and the political intention it was appealing to the masses too.When someone tries to copy this approach,they end up with some funny stuff. 

 

This movie was re-released in the year 2006 and see the crowd gathered at Albert theater.

Let me type some political lyrics in his songs:

 

"மக்கள் நலம் மக்கள் நலம் என்றே சொல்லுவார் 

தம் மக்கள் நலம் ஒன்றே தான் மனதில் கொள்ளுவார் " - from the song "Thambi naan padithen",movie Netru Indru Naalai.

"அங்கே சிரிப்பவர்கள் சிரிக்கட்டும் அது ஆணவச் சிரிப்பு" - Rickshawkaaran

 

The above songs were written by none other than Vaali(as I said MGR had control on songs and lyrics too,though credit goes to lyricist).

Somehow or other he will bring Anna in his songs.What is the connection between Anna and Kashmir?But he brought in Anna's name in the song describing Kashmir as follows:

"அண்ணாவின் பேர் சொல்லும் காஞ்சியைப் போல் 

நேருவின் புகழ் சொல்லும் பூமி இது  "

 

 The above song was written by Pulamaipithan.

Its really sad that TN is yet to get such intelligent,pro-poor,truly secular,development minded leader as CM.

Finally MGR died on 24th December,1987.

Actually I want to write an even lengthy post about MGR,but this space is not enough for that,so I would like to quote the following lyrics(written by evergreen Vaali) from the MGR starrer Panampadaithavan and end this post:

"இருந்தாலும் மறைந்தாலும் பேர் சொல்ல வேண்டும்

இவர் போல யாரென்று ஊர் சொல்ல வேண்டும் "

Bharathi - The National Poet

Friends its time to remember national poet,'Mahakavi' Subramanya Bharathiyaar. His birth anniversary falls on December 11th.Many don't remember this.To be frank,many don't know this at all.But on December 12th the media will celebrate the birthday of another person like anything and they give immense importance to him.Anyway that is purely for commercial purpose and I have no right to criticise the private channels.But they can telecast atleast a one hour program about freedom fighters and national leaders on such occasions.No issues,let us spend sometime for him and let me share something which I know about him in this space.


He was born in the year 1882 in a place called Ettayapuram.He is a great revolutionary and a reformer.In Tamil Nadu,it was Bharathi who raised his voice against casteism.He was the one who worked for women education too.After him so many people who claimed/claims themselves as reformers(பகுத்தறிவாளி),did some activities to wipe out casteism.But what makes Bharathi special? The time period during which he did all these things,that makes him special.Bharathi was born in a brahmin family.He fought against untouchability in the society.He wrote lot of poems against casteism as follows:

"ஜாதிகள் இல்லையடி பாப்பா
ஜாதிகள் இல்லையடி பாப்பா - குலத்
தாழ்ச்சி உயர்ச்சி சொல்லல் பாபம் - பாப்பா
ஜாதிகள் இல்லையடி பாப்பா"

வெள்ளை நிறத்தொரு பூனை - எங்கள்
வீட்டில் வளருது கண்டீர்.

பிள்ளைகள் பெற்றதப் பூனை - அவை
பேருக் கொருநிற மாகும்

சாம்பல் நிறமொரு குட்டி - கருஞ்
சாந்து நிறமொரு குட்டி

பாம்பு நிறமொரு குட்டி - வெள்ளைப்
பாலின் நிறமொரு குட்டி

எந்த நிறமிருந் தாலும் - அவை

ஏற்றமென் றுஞ்சொல்ல லாமோ?

Not only in words,he also showed his protest against casteism in deeds.He used to drink Tea in a shop owned by Muslim.In this era that is not a big deal.That is a normal activity.But in those days, that was considered as a sin.And he even went to the extent of doing something even more revolutionary.He made a person belonging to a so called suppressed community(தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட சமூகம்),Kanakalingam,to wear theYajnopavitam thread(பூணூல்).On seeing his revolutionary activities,another great poet, Kanaka SubbuRathinam,changed his name as Bharathidasan.

As a poet he has written KannanPaattu,KuyilPaattu,PanchaliSabatham etc.There is a unique speciality in Bharathi's poems.Bharathi had a great musical knowledge and he tuned his songs.I have heard from people,who has real musical knowledge,that while reading the poems itself u can feel the musical touch in it.And many songs of Bharathiyar has been used in Tamil films like Kakkai Siraginile Nandhalala,Sutrum Vizhi Sudar Than, Odi Vilayadu Pappa,Nallathor Veenai Seithen,Theertha Karayinile,Aaduvome Pallu Paaduvome etc. And even in Carnatic musical concerts,many classical singers will sing Bharathi's songs only.You can observe this in jaya tv or vijay tv or anyother tv channels,which will host 'Margazhi' maha-utsavam shows.Singers like Nithyashree Mahadevan,Bombay Jayashree etc will be featuring in those shows.You can observe them singing Bharathi's songs for sure.


Bharathi knows so many languages.He never restricted himself to Tamil alone.He was fluent in many languages such as English,French,Telugu,Bengali,Hindi,Sanskrit etc.He learnt so many languages,but that didn't make him forget Tamil and still he is the greatest poet in Tamil.So in my opinion nothing wrong in learning other languages.And pouring Tar on the boards or spending hundreds of crores to conduct a conference,for the sake of publicity will not help to grow Tamil.

Anyway see the national thought of Bharathi in the following song:

சிந்து நதியின் மிசை நிலவினிலே


சேர நன்னாட்டிளம் பெண்களுடனே

சுந்தர தெலுங்கினில் பாட்டிசைத்து

தோனிகள் ஒட்டி விளையாடி வருவோம்

This song actually means,In the moonlight,in the Sindh river,along with Chera Kingdom girls(Kerala girls), we will sing a song in the beautiful language,Telugu, and row the boats and play.

காவிரி வெற்றிலைக்கு மாறு கொள்வோம்

சிங்க மராத்தியர் தம் கவிதை கொண்டு

சேரத்து தந்தங்களை பரிசளிப்போம்

We will get the wheat that grows near the ganga river and will exchange it with betel leaf that grows on the sides of Cauvery.For the poems of Marathas,we will give Keralas tusks in return
 
( I apologise for pathetic english-translation of Mahakavi's song,I am not good at translating poems,but still to stress the national view of Bharathi only I translated the above song).
 
In the song,he has written another line as :
 
சிங்களத் தீவினுக்கோர் பாலமமைப்போம் (We will build a bridge to the Island Nation SriLanka).
 
He  never asked to do dredging in the sea to make a sea route to SriLanka(I feel its better to not even think of Ram-Sethu sea route project).

He is a big fan of English poet P B Shelly.He has written a poem by using a nickname,ShellyDasan.Though he has fluency in so many languages,he still loves Tamil more than anyother language and he feels,in his
opinion,Tamil is the best.

 யாமறிந்த மொழிகளிலேயே தமிழ் மொழி போல் இனிதாவதெங்ககும் காணோம்

This means that,among the languages which he knows,he holds Tamil as the best.

I have gone through an article about Bharathi written by a writer,late Mr.Su.Samuthiram long long ago.In that he has spoken with people who knew Bharathi personally(Bharathi died at an young age).Those people,still considers Bharathi as nothing more than an eccentric.Yes,Bharathi was considered an eccentric by many people those days.In India,every genius will be considered as an eccentric only.But Bharathi never cared anyone.

He was a man of confidence.See the below poem,you can understand:

தேடிச் சோறுநிதந் தின்று - பல


சின்னஞ் சிறுகதைகள் பேசி – மனம்

வாடித் துன்பமிகவுழுன்று - பிறர்

வாடப் பலசெயல்கள் செய்து - நரை

கூடிக் கிழப்பருவம் எய்தி - கொடுங்

கூற்றுக் கிரையெனப் பின்மாயும் - பல

வேடிக்கை மனிதரைப் போல - நான்

வீழ்வே னென்று நினைத் தாயோ?

Even at the time of his death,he was not scared or he was not sad.He said,

 "காளா! உன்னை சிறுபுல்லென மதிக்கிறேன். என் காலருகே வாடா! உன்னை மிதிக்கிறேன்"

It means,he considers the Yama as a small grass and says he will kick him if he comes to take his life.Such a bold and confident poet he is.

The sad part is that,still some of the so called reformers(பகுத்தறிவாளிகள்) bash him in the name of caste.The person who fought against casteism,is still being bashed in the name of cast.They still call him as a 'PaarppanaKavi'.

Its a real pity that,a national poet,a revolutionary poet,with full of national thoughts is being viewed as Brahmin poet.

பாரதக்கவியை பார்ப்பனக் கவியென வசை பாடுவது கேவலம் தானே!!


I could have very well written this article in Tamil itself.But some people really find it difficult to read Tamil fonts it seems.I want everyone to know atleast something about Bharathi.So only I wrote this post in English and included peoms alone in Tamil.Spend a few minutes to read this article and adjust with some pathetic grammar in the translations of the poems.

மதன்(Madhan)'s திரைப்பார்வை

Hi hi hi.. Hope most of u have seen Madhan's thiraipparvai in vijay tv. If Madhan reviews some below mentioned movies,with little politcs,then how it would be? 

Note : I dont belong to any political party. Its just for fun.. If u belong to any party ,or u if u r staunch supporter of any party, or if u r serious person, kindly ignore this post.

 

 Madhan : Haai.. Well we are meeting after a long time...வழக்கமா நம்ம programல ஒவ்வொரு வாரமும்  ஒரு படத்த  விமர்சனம் பன்னுவோம்  . but this time for a change ஒரு சில படங்களை விமர்சனம் பன்னலாம். Well the first movie is Kalavani(களவானி).

 களவானி

இந்த படத்திலே hero va Mr.Raja நடிச்சிருக்காரு. இதிலே நன்னா கவனிச்சேல்னா இதை ஒரு historical movieனு சொல்லலாம. Reason, this movie is based on a historical corruption..இந்த படத்திலே கதை னு பார்த்தேள்னா ரொம்ப simple. ஒரு மந்திரி  2-ஆம் தலைமுறைக்கான அலைகற்று (௨க் ச்பெக்ட்ரும்) ஒதுக்கீட்டில் ஒரு சில தில்லுமுல்லுகள்  பன்னிடறார், but that results in a huge loss to the govt.. கிட்ட தட்ட ஒரு 1 lakh 76  thousand,381 crore loss ஏற்படுது... 2 வருஷம் மந்திரி பதவியில தொடர்ந்து தாக்கு பிடிக்கிறார்.. but unfortunately all of a sudden, due to media pressure he is forced to resign.. climax ல பதவி விலகராறு .. 

Well hats-off Mr.Raja,as an actor, இந்த  களவானி characterல நன்னா பேஷா  perform பன்னிர்க்கார். Especially,நான் எந்த தப்பும் பன்ன,  followed the TRAI guidelinesனு punch dialog பேசறது நல்ல நகைச்சுவை.இதுல நடுவுல ஒரு கெட்டிக்காரத்தனமான statement விட்டிருந்தார்- " The spectrum allocation was as per the guidelines of the Prime Minister"னு. Towards the end,after resigning, இல்லை நான் குற்றமற்றவன், , “I resigned as per the advice of my beloved leader Dr.Kalaignar” nu,director(Kalaignar) ku credits கொடுக்குற காட்சி தத்ரூபமா படமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கு.This shows there is scope for 2^nd part too.. 

 Comedy,actionனு  எல்லாம் இருக்கிற இந்த movieல romance(காதல் ) கூட இருந்தது, but censor board அதை வெளியிட தடை விதிச்சிட்டாங்க. 

Well, this is also like other corruption stories, but the number is really huge and history has never seen such a huge corruption.So I give 5 stars out of 5 for this movie.

Madhan's Comment : ராஜா  ராணியை நம்பி 

Thiruttu payale :

Well this is a little bit old movie.இதிலே நம்ம சுரேஷ் கல்மாடி ஹீரோவா நடிச்சிருக்க்காறு.இந்த படம் விளையாட்டு சம்மந்தப்பட்ட திரைப்படம். Lagaan, Chak De India, போன்ற படங்களின் வரிசையிலே இதையும் சொல்லலாம் . இதுல இவர் காமன்வெல்த் போட்டிகள் நடத்தும் குழுவின் தலைவரா நடிசிருக்காரு. இவரோட கதாபாத்திரத்தின் சிறப்பம்சம்(speciality)  என்னன்னா இவர் எந்த ஒரு பொருளையும் வேஸ்ட் பன்ன மாட்டார். அதனால தான் மிதியடி வாங்கரதுல இருந்து ஆரம்பிச்சு,fridge, ஏன் bathroom கழுவர்துல கூட ஊழல் பன்றாரு. 

But unfortunately,again media exposes his corrupt activities.But still, he has put on a brave fight. ஒரு வழியா போட்டிகளையும் வெற்றிகரமா நடத்தி முடிச்சிடறாரு. But after that he is sacked by the congress party. தன்னோட தலைமையிடமான காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி தன மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தது இவர்க்கு அதிர்ச்சியை தந்தாலும், மனம் தளராமல் போர்றாரு. ஆனா இவர் மீது எதனால் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க பட்டது என்று அடுத்த காட்சியிலேயே விளக்கம் சொல்லி irukkanga : "ஊழல் செய்யலாம் அதுல எந்த தப்பும் இல்ல,ஆனா பயபுள்ள மாட்டிக்கிட்டான்,அங்க தப்பு பண்ணிட்டன்.. இவன் மாட்டிகிட்டா கொய்யால அடுத்து நாங்க தான் மாட்டுவோம், அதுக்கு தான் இவன தூக்கிட்டோம்" னு சொல்றாங்க.

Well though he is corrupt,he conducted the CWG nicely at the end. So I give 3 stars for him.

Madhan's Comment : Kalmadi - ஊழலில் கில்லாடி 

உத்தமபுத்திரன் 

Friends,this is one of the most expensive movies.In this movie Dr.Manmohan Singh என்பவர் பிரதமர் வேஷத்துல நடிச்சிருக்கார். இந்த படத்துல இவர் உண்மைலேயே ரொம்ப ஒரு difficult characterல தான் act பன்னிர்கார். சோனியா காந்தி கிட்ட "Yes madam,yes madam"னு தலை ஆட்றது, கலைஞர் கடிதங்களை பத்திரபடுத்தி கடையில  போட்டு குச்சி ஐஸ் சாபிட்றது, கல்மாடி ஊழல் பத்தி கேள்வி கேக்கறப்போ வெளி நாடு சுற்று பயணம் போறது, American President Obama கூட முக்கியமான விஷயம் பேச சொல்லி அனுப்பி வெச்சா,தன மகளுக்காக Obama கிட்ட Autograph வாங்கறதுன்னு காமெடி பன்றப்போவும் சரி, கொட்ரொச்சி யா நல்ல மனிதர் னு சொல்லி சோனியா ஜி ஓட ஆதரவ தக்க வசிக்ரப்போவும் சரி, தீவிரவாதிகள் கடுமையாக தண்டிக்க படுவார்கள் என்று காமெடி பஞ்ச் வசனம் பேசறதுன்னு பல பரிமாணங்களில் நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுதிர்க்கார்.

மத்தவங்க பன்ற எல்லா தப்பையும் வேடிக்க மட்டும் பார்ப்பார். அதனாலேயே நாட்டிலே இவருக்கு உத்தமபுதிரன்னு ஒரு பெயர் இருக்கு.

பெண் சிங்கம் 

Well,We have seen lot of hero oriented movies.This movie,as the title suggests, is a heroine oriented one. இந்த படத்துல பார்த்தேள்னா ஜெயலலிதா நடிச்சிருக்காங்க. இவங்க ஒரு நல்ல மாஸ் heroineனு  சொன்னாலும் சமீப காலமா இவர் படங்கள் தேர்தல் ரீதியா தோல்விய தழுவியிருக்கு. இவங்களுக்கு ரசிகர்பலம் இன்னும் அப்படியே strong ah இருக்கிறது ஒரு major plus point. அதுக்கு ஏற்ற மாதிரி , இவங்க கோவை, திருச்சி, மதுரைல பொது கூட்டங்கள் நடத்துவது போன்ற காட்ச்கள் நன்னா picturise பன்னிர்க்கா. There was a mad rush in all those meetings. 

1999,2004,2009 parliament elections, 2006 assembly election nu வரிசையா தோற்றாலும் தன்னம்பிக்கையோட வில்லன் கருணாநிதியையும் அவரோட கூட்டத்தையும் எதிர்க்கிற காட்சிகள்ல she has shown class acting. ஒரு ஒரு முறையும் அவங்க பேட்டிகளில் மைனாரிட்டி திமுக அரசுனு சொல்றது ரசனைக்குரிய நல்ல நகைச்சுவை.At times, வில்லன் கருணாநிதி இதனால வெறுப்பின் உச்சத்துக்கே போயி இவங்கள திருமதி ஜெயலலிதானு விமர்சனம் பண்றது அருவருப்பான counter.We are not impressed. சோனியா காந்திக்கு பல முறை மறைமுகமாகவும் நேரடியாகவும் கூட்டணிக்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்கற இடங்கள்ல audience பலமா கை தட்டுவதை உணர முடிகிறது.

இந்த முறையும் காங்கிரஸ் - கருணாநிதி கூட்டணி தமிழகத்தில்  release time la குள்ள நரி வேலை எதுவும் செய்யலன்னா இந்த படம் தேர்தல் ரீதியா மிக பிரம்மாண்டமான வெற்றி பெரும்

Well here comes the most expected movie of the year.Obviously the hero is none other than Mr.X. சமீப காலத்துல இவர் வெற்றியை தவிர எதையும் சந்திக்கலன்னே சொல்லலாம். இந்த தீராத விளையாட்டு பிள்ளை கதாபாத்திரத்துல 87 வயது இளைஞரா நன்னா பிரமாதமா பன்னிர்கார். மகனுக்காக டெல்லி வரைக்கும் போயி பதவி வாங்கும் காட்சியில பாசமுள்ள தந்தையா யதார்த்தமா நடிசிர்க்கார். இளங்கோவன் இவரை விமர்சனம் பன்றப்போ எல்லாம் dhadaaladi பஞ்ச் வசனம் பேசாம விவேகமா பதில் சொல்ற காட்சிகள்ல எல்லாம் நன்னா ஜோர் aah நடிசிர்க்காறு. காலையில் டிபன்  முடித்துவிட்டு மதியம் lunch சாப்பிடும் வரை எதுவும் சாப்பிடாமல் இருந்து விட்டு உண்ணாவிரதம் என்று சொல்ற scene, its a hilarious one.
